Ms. Diane Melançon has dedicated her entire career to loss management and prevention in the retail sector, establishing herself as an essential reference across Canada. Recognized by her peers as one of the greatest experts in the field, she has, for several decades, assisted small, medium and large companies in protecting, managing and recovering their financial losses resulting from the risks inherent in current business operations.
She began her career with the Steinberg chain of stores, where she contributed in particular to the design and implementation of structured programs in loss prevention and management. In 1975, she joined the Garda Security Group, where, as president, she was entrusted with the creation and organization of the Investigation Division, now known as Garda World.
Between 1981 and 1986, her expertise was sought by Pharmaprix pharmacies as well as by the Centre des Ressources Dynamiques Permel Ltée, who called upon her skills to optimize their practices in her various fields of intervention. In 1991, she broadened her scope by becoming a speaker and trainer for numerous organizations, including the Montreal Urban Community and its Police Service, as well as the Quebec Ministry of Public Security.
Recognizing the evolution and increasing complexity of the challenges faced by businesses, Ms. Melançon founded her own company in 1995, entirely dedicated to retail businesses and organizations facing similar problems. She then established strategic partnerships with several law firms and developed close relationships with various Canadian police forces and judicial bodies, thereby strengthening the effectiveness of her interventions.

In 2024, Ms. Melançon chose to pass the torch to her nephew, Mr. Karl Sacha Langlois, lawyer, in order to ensure the continuity of the Action Civil Suits brand.
